Exotic Animals

At TLC for Pets, We Love Exotic Animals

At our veterinary clinic in Reisterstown, we want to make sure that you have access to an experienced and knowledgeable veterinarian, no matter which pet keeps you company. Therefore, we’re happy to offer veterinary services for exotic animals.

At TLC for Pets, We Love Exotic Animals

When we think exotic pets, we tend to refer to pets that aren’t dogs or cats. Snakes, ferrets, rabbits, and birds, for example, are considered exotic animals. As such, we provide a wide range of services for your less common pets - because they deserve care too!

It is important to note, however, that our exotic pet care, unfortunately, doesn’t include wild animals. If you find yourself in a situation where you would like to help a wild animal, get in touch with us. We will do our best to connect you with an organization that is licensed to work with wildlife.

Don't Wait for the Emergency!

Unfortunately, many people don't get regular vet care for their exotic pets in the same way that they would care for dogs and cats.  Don't wait!  A veterinarian can sometimes pick up on problems before they become emergencies.  Also, we are much more likely to be available for emergencies with our existing patients than with new ones.

Caring For Exotic Pets

The first step begins with you. As a pet owner, it is your responsibility to educate yourself on the needs of your pet. Don’t worry though - our Reisterstown animal hospital is happy to help. We can educate you about the specific needs of your pets, such as the kind of environment in which they should live, some training tips, and more.

Furthermore, it goes without saying that we also provide health-related veterinarian care to your exotic animals. With our shared wealth of knowledge and experience, we can provide care that is the right fit for your pet.

We regularly offer various types of vaccinations for those species that need them, and we encourage you to check in with us at least once a year for a global exam. This preventative care measure can help catch something before it becomes serious. But, in the event that your pet is seriously ill, our vets can come to the rescue, with emergency services like surgery. Simply talk to one of our Reisterstown veterinarians today to figure out what is best for your exotic pets!

If you have any questions or concerns or would like to set up an appointment, please reach out to us, and we will be more than happy to help. Our phone number is (410) 833-1717. We look forward to working with you!
