Dr. Mitchell Lucas

Dr. Mitchell Lucas is our full time vet and the founder of TLC for Pets.

Dr. Lucas graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1986 and began practicing in the Baltimore area in 1987.

Dr. Lucas is married with three kids, three cats, a golden retriever, a pug/beagle/mystery mix, and a blue-tongued skink (lizard). Dr. Lucas enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine.

Dr. Joy Goode

Dr. Joy Goode is one of our very reliable part-time vets that assist our practice when Dr. Lucas is not available. Dr. Goode has been helping us since 2008 and has over 15 years of experience in veterinary medicine. Our long-time clients have been extremely happy with the consistent care their pets receive here.

Paula, Vickie, Donna and Susan (Vet Technicians)

Our friendly veterinary technician crew has many years of experience.

Their areas of expertise range from emergency medicine to dental care. Several have RVT certification and advanced training.

Our technicians compassionately attend to the needs of your pet and are easily accessible to help you as well.

The TLC Extended Family

TLC for Pets is proud to have employed several people who have later become veterinarians themselves and has a history of employing and hopefully inspiring some college and high school students. Jessica and Deena continue that trend. Deena is also Dr. Lucas's daughter.

Whether they continue in another medical field or another area of importance to animals and our environment, we are happy to get their assistance at this stage and take advantage of the TLC they give the animals here.

Sarah (Professional Groomer)

Do your pets need a little "me" time? You can feel comfortable leaving them in the very capable hands of Sarah, our professional groomer.

With more than five years of experience, she will meticulously attend to your pet. Our clients love her work! Sarah also helps as a part-time receptionist and technician.

Kristen (Receptionist)

With us for more than 5 years now, Kristen is an important part of the TLC family as one of our full-time receptionists. Make sure you say "Hello" to this familiar face at your next appointment!

Tammy (Receptionist)

Tammy has been with us since early 2010, and brings experience as a veterinary assistant and receptionist. As our other full-time receptionist, Tammy is always eager to assist you over the phone or in person.
